Viagra was shown to be the biggest contributor to erectile dysfunction in the men aged 20-29 in the UK.

It is the first time the drug has been linked to a higher risk of stroke, high blood pressure and diabetes.
The Royal College of GPs has added it is “unimpressed” by the study.
The study looked at 152 men aged 18 to 65 who had been diagnosed with erectile dysfunction and were taking Viagra to improve their symptoms.
They were randomly assigned to receive either 50mg of Viagra, or 50mg of Viagra plus two tablets of Dapoxetine, or to receive Dapoxetine plus one tablet of Sertraline.
Viagra and Dapoxetine are not currently approved for the treatment of erectile dysfunction.
Researchers said there is a high likelihood that the drug could cause more serious problems such as strokes or heart attacks.
It was also the first time the drug had been linked to a higher risk of stroke, high blood pressure and diabetes.
The Royal College of General Practitioners said: "We are very concerned that the findings of this study show that the risk associated with taking Viagra and Dapoxetine for a longer period of time than we had previously estimated was approximately five times higher compared with a risk of four times higher in men taking the drug."

The study was funded by a research grant from the British Society of Men’s Health.

They added: "The safety of sildenafil (Viagra), tadalafil (Cialis), vardenafil (Levitra), diltiazem (DiaWAYS), fosinopril (Excess dose of fosinopril) and all phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors has not been established. Serious adverse events have been reported in association with their use."
Wales, 28 August 2009 – Pfizer announced today that it will offer to buy out the rights to erectile dysfunction drug Viagra from Pfizer in the UK, in addition to other companies who have patent rights and were not included in the deal, including Mylan Pharmaceuticals, Watson Pharmaceuticals, Mylan Pharmaceuticals, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Mylan Pharmaceuticals, Mylan Pharmaceuticals UK, Sandoz, AstraZeneca and Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (“the companies”).
The company said that the move “will help to ensure that Pfizer continues to have strong patents and other protections for patients,” while adding that Pfizer would continue to “continue to invest in our research, development and manufacture” of Viagra.
The Pfizer deal was announced by Pfizer Inc. and Pfizer’s chairman and chief executive, Hank McKinnell, who announced the deal at a press conference today at the company’s corporate headquarters in Cambridge, the UK.
“The UK has the largest number of Pfizer patents in the world,” McKinnell said. “Pfizer’s focus now lies in the UK, so it will continue to invest in the company and continue to deliver high-quality medicines to the public.”
He added: “Pfizer remains focused on delivering high-quality medicines to the public and ensuring that we continue to deliver quality medicine to the people who rely on us.”
The agreement comes after Pfizer announced the launch of a rival version of Viagra to be available starting in the spring of 2008. The two medicines, which are known under the brand name “Sildenafil” and “Viagra Connect,” contain the same active ingredient but are much more potent, the company said.
Viagra, manufactured by Pfizer in the US and developed by Mylan, was the first drug to win approval for marketing in the UK. It had already been rejected twice in the US and Europe.
As part of the deal, Pfizer agreed to pay an additional $75m to settle allegations that it illegally marketed and sold Viagra products and products for unapproved uses.
The company’s patent on sildenafil was also extended to include claims for “impotence”, “erectile dysfunction,” and “impotence in adult males.”
